Start with the entrance
Discuss clear entrance width, entrance position on each floor and usable movement space alongside shaft and cabin dimensions. Images can communicate finish preferences, but they cannot confirm fit. The final door arrangement needs a project and site review before manufacturing is approved.
Centre-opening automatic doors
In a centre-opening arrangement, leaves move away from the middle toward both sides. Confirm clear opening width, leaf arrangement and the space required in the design. Leaf count and configuration vary by product, so one centre-opening photograph is not a universal technical reference.
Side-opening automatic doors
Side-opening leaves move toward one side according to the specified configuration. Review opening direction, required side space and clear passage width. The label alone does not establish fit; document the layout and its compatibility with floor entrances and the cabin.
Clarify semi-automatic arrangements
A semi-automatic solution may include a manually opened landing door with internal equipment defined by the design. Ask how it is used and what the offer includes for cabin and landing doors. The name is not permission to omit safety requirements or interfere with door locks.
Coordinate finish and system design
Review steel, glazing, colour and finish after the arrangement is established. Both cabin and landing doors should be specified; a landing-door image is not enough. Changing the opening type requires another system and dimension review, not only matching colours or appearance.
Questions to ask the supplier
Ask for clear entrance width, opening direction, cabin and landing-door configuration, finish, model and site requirements. Keep answers in the quotation or approved drawing. In use, follow the elevator instructions; never block a closing door with your body or attempt to adjust its mechanism.
